Spring Summer Trends for 2019
As the weather warms up, we’re finally moving away from the depths of winter and into the long, balmy days of summer. Fashion shows may well have moved on to Autumn/Winter 2019, but the rest of us are all dusting off our spring/summer wardrobes and deciding how we can be bang on trend this season.
If you’ve just hit payday and are trying to decide what to spend your well-earned cash on, we’ve pulled together the key looks for the season, as predicted on the catwalks of many a fashion designer, including Christian Siriano, Oscar de la Renta and Victoria Beckham. If you’re not looking to reinvent your wardrobe, then you can pull these key trends together by investing in the following accessories, to add a splash of that on-trend colour, structure or print:
Neon and fluorescent hues have made a big come back this season, with sunny yellow, in particular, lighting up fashion shows in London, Paris and New York. Take a trip to any high street store and you’ll see dazzling pops of colour not seen since the heady power dressing days of the eighties.
If you want to look more Gigi Hadid than Alexis Colby (fans of Dynasty, you’ll get this) then simply add a pop of neon with our yellow and grey reversible star tote. This practical and perfectly formed bag will certainly get you noticed!
Yellow may have dominated the catwalks, but the high street has taken this and softened it to a beautiful coral colour. Taking inspiration from one of the most biologically diverse ecosystems on the planet, coral is set to be everywhere this season. It’s so popular, the Colour Institute Pantone has named Living Coral their Colour of the Year for 2019 .
A gorgeous orange with gold undertones, this colour represents a ‘need for optimism and joyful pursuits’, giving us an excuse to get out, let our hair down and escape the Brexit nonsense! Don’t despair if you’re now looking in your wardrobe scratching your head, you can add coral to your colour palette by simply investing in some beautiful coral jewellery. Our gorgeous coral and gold bracelet is a really easy way to capture this fashion trend.
We saw shells dominate summer 2018 and it looks like they’re set to be a big hit again in 2019. Let’s face it, we see shells and all think of the beach so it makes perfect sense that they remain so popular. No longer just for tweens and surfers, the shell jewellery of today focuses on conch and jumbo shells.
If you’re planning to go on holiday, this is a must-have accessory. To add some crustaceans to your summer wardrobe, we’ve got an amazing range of shell jewellery, including these beautiful hoop shell earrings in silver and aqua.
Equally at home on the beach or for a night out, these handmade earrings are incredibly versatile and the perfect boho accessory.
Animal print never seems to go out of fashion, it was popular for autumn/winter 2018 and the trend rocks on into the spring and summer. It was seen on the catwalks of Nicole Miller and Tom Ford, taking over insta feeds everywhere, but if you’re not ready to embrace your inner Bet Lynch and invest in that leopard print midi skirt, then why not give your wardrobe a wild makeover by simply adding a scarf to your outfit? Our grey Animal Print Scarf combines this fierce trend with a beautiful coral trim, so you’ll be killing two birds with one stone!
It’s not enough to wear one bright colour. No, this season we’ll also see a lot of colour blocking. The fashion designer Prabal Gurung embraced this brave look in his celeb-filled fashion shows and the brave colour combinations are already trickling down to the high street. If you’re looking to super-charge your look with bold blocks of colour, then our fuchsia pink, rose gold and aqua Leather Cuff bracelet is a must-have. You’ll definitely make a statement with this essential piece!
Yes, a trend more usually associated with the showgirls of Vegas has taken the catwalks by storm this season! First brought to our attention by Lady Gaga at the Venice Film Festival, with her pink ‘flamingo’ dress covered with soft pink feathers, this touch of Old Hollywood is set to be big for a few seasons to come.
If you want to embrace this look, but don’t want to risk resembling Big Bird from Sesame Street, then our Silver Hoop Dreamcatcher Earrings are a subtle nod to this trend. Featuring silver feathers, they impeccably combine boho chic with Hollywood glam.
